The 49th annual Merrie Monarch Festival, an international Hula competition in Hilo, Hawaii, runs from April 8-14. Considered the Olympics of Hula, cultural Hawaiian events will be held around Hilo town during the week of the festival to allow visitors and locals to experience the beauty of Hula dance and hear the wonderful Hawaiian melodies and chants.
