ASIA BIT
• Aloha Joe, and Happy Aloha Thursday morning to you and all your listeners all the way from Phuket Thailand! As you know this is the last leg of my journey before heading home to our beloved Hawaiian Islands.
• We are down here in Phuket with my Partner Frank Kim who will be opening offices for Ohana Beach Rental Phuket by the first of next year.
• Soon our websites will feature properties for rent in Phuket Thailand and we even hope to install the first ever Phuket Web Cam.

WEATHER
• Light winds in the 8mph range from the South will be making the water smooth and glassy.
• WARM weather with partly cloudy skies and light showers are expected this weekend.
• Temperatures will be in the mid to high 80’s during the day, dropping to low 70’s at night.
• Surf will be in the 1-3 ft range for all shores. Next month will begin the annual Triple Crown of Surfing competition so we are all hoping for a BIG NORTH SHORE SWELL!
GRAND OPENING OF EDITION HOTEL AND NIGHTCLUB
• Aloha Joe, it’s no secret that Oahu has some of the most exciting nightlife and events in the world at some of the most glamorous and beautiful venues in the world. This past weekend we celebrated a NEW EDITION!
• On Friday night Marriot’s first of their long awaited boutique brand “Edition Hotel” in Waikiki opened it’s doors to a star-studded guest list of movie stars, musicians and socialites.
• Christina Aguilera, Vanessa Hudgens and Danny Masterson were among the celebs at the hotel’s opening night celebration.
• The line wrapped around the building with club goers trying to make it on the amazing guest list or get a glimpse of the celebrities.
• Ohana Beach Rentals Hawaii has already secured our introduction to the new Hotel and nightclub by becoming proud supporters of the Gift annual non-profit event.
• The Gift Hawaii has always been known for their philanthropy and their ability to throw an amazing party! The venue is always unbelievable and this year it will be at of course, The Edition.
• We will update you on the party!
• The second “Edition Hotel” will open in Istanbul, Turkey, later this year. The concept is coming soon to Mexico City; Barcelona, Spain; Bangkok; and Miami’s South Beach, but Waikiki is where it all begins!
• Waikiki is becoming iconic with glamour, beauty, fine dining and amazing venues!
COMEDIAN ROBIN WILLIAMS IN CONCERT
• Celebrities just can’t get enough of Hawaii. Even though it is the most isolated place in the world people flock to its shores! Musicians, movie stars AND WORLD FAMOUS COMEDIANS!
• Academy Award-winning actor and multiple Grammy-winning performer unparalleled in the scope of his imagination, Robin Williams will perform at Neal Blaisdell on November 22nd.
• It is his first ever Hawaii performance!
• Tickets went quick! Only a few remain in the $110 to $400 range. Our own Creative Director Amber, was able to snag a few for her and her father, who is a huge fan.
• Robin Williams has been sighted many times in Kailua on Oahu’s East shore but this is the first time his fans in the islands will get to experience the comedic genius live in concert.
• It should be a night of amazing laughs and an outstanding performance that fans will never forget.
CRAZY SEXY GHOUL HALLOWEEN PARTY
• October is one of the most fun months in Hawaii! As the start of the holiday season everyone is in the partying spirit!
• Tomorrow night the legendary Crazy, Sexy Ghoul costume extravaganza at Aloha Tower will bring in a couple thousand dressed up party-goers to rock out all in the name of charity.
• Every year the founders of The Slopes Of Diamond Head HUI host an event for the Make a Wish Foundation of Hawaii.
• The guys get together and throw a party for the ladies! That’s right girls get in for free! Guys are $20 at the door.
• Last year over 2,000 people attended.
• (Lead out) Costumes, DJs, ladies in for FREE! Sounds like a party to me!
UH WARRIOR FOOTBALL
• Aloha Joe good news! Warriors took another WIN this past weekend against Nevada!
• Fans went wild as the Warriors we’re able to finish the game 27-21!
• The upset was huge for Nevada who up until the game had a perfect run.
• Ranked 19th in the Wolfpack Nevada hasn’t beaten the Aloha State since 1948!
• And the tradition continues. The proud white and green Warriors stood their ground and made certain that Nevada knew they were on their home turf.
• Hawaii fans we’re once again ecstatic about the win! Right now the warriors are 5 and 2. Next weekend they will be on the road again playing against Utah.
HAWAII TID-BIT
• You know Aloha Joe as we move into the fall and winter months there is definitely a slight chill in the air.
• With such a diverse landscape and climate Hawaii is a paradise for growing and cultivating an assortment of vegetation.
• Pumpkins are one of them! Contrary to popular belief there are numerous pumpkin patches all over the state and pumpkin pickin has been in full throttle since the beginning of October.
• Farms in Kapolei on Oahu and Kula in Maui are just a few that have already held their pumpkin pickin celebrations!
• The largest pumpkin ever grown in the state was a whopping 1,140 pounds!
• WOW! That’s a lot of pumpkin pie!
