06/24/11 – 07/03/11 – We had a fabulous time at the “Oceanfront Retreat” condo at the DHB Hotel/Condos. There was plenty of room for the two of us. The pictures are exactly what you get…very nice decor and the views from the lanai was spectacular. In fact the views from every room was incredible! We loved the fact that it was soooo quiet and peaceful at night. It’s a great kitchen for cooking and enterntaining…my relatives from Pearl City came over a few times for dinner and we had so much fun enjoying the ambiance of the condo. Safeway market is on Kapahulu Blvd., about 10 minutes by car. You really wanted to stay close to “home” and enjoy the ocean right at your backdoor (we did!) or relaxing on the lounge chairs (did that too). Everything at the DHB Hotel/Condos was comfortable and nice.
We walked to Waikiki, and became tourists…it’s a good stretch of the legs (long walk), so wear good walking shoes/slippers. At night you can always catch a cab back so you don’t have to worry about finding a parking space. Kapiolani Park is right across from DHB Hotel, and nice beaches near the Acquarium.
The island of Oahu has so much to offer as far as activities and sight-seeing…take it all in and enjoy as much as you can, from luaus to beaches. Our favorite beaches were Lanikai and Hanauma Bay (there is a fee).
A special thank you goes to Sarra Khan, from OBR. She took such great care of us from the very beginning and made our stay a most memorable one. Mahalo OBR management for everything! Aloha nui loa.
