ALOHA OBRHI PROPERTY OWNERS
It is no surprise that the negative world economy has taken its toll on virtually every business sector including leisure and business travel to Hawaii and specifically the island of Oahu.
Island occupancy rates are the lowest since 1985 with average occupancy reports in the low 60 percentile.
What may come as a bigger surprise is that OBRHI occupancy rates for the year easily beat this number and for the summer we were over a 93% booked.
We attribute our success to the following for your consideration:
- Our business model represents more of a “value” to the traveling consumer now more than every before. Luxury properties, properly equipped and furnished in good locations are still in demand.
- We have made major investments in updating and promoting all our web sites including the recent launch of our German language site.
- In January of this year we embarked on the largest adverting campaign in our history to obtain market share from our “large resort hotel” competitors who cannot compete with our value and pricing, especially for moderate term stays. We can be found in Hana Hau Magazine, Aloha-Street, Hawaii Luxury, Luxury Homes, The Outrigger Magazine to name a few. It has been paying off.
- Our Primary English Language Web site has been in a continue updating mode since January with many new features. If you have not visited our site recently please consider doing so.
- In April we hired Formula 808 Public Relations company headed up by Matt Durby and staff. They have increased our local and mainland media presence by a significant amount, both in traditional print as well as Web media. Please check out the new “In the Press” area on our web sites homepage.

Many of you have been with us for over 4 years now for which we thank you once again for your support. Some of you have recently decided to list your properties for sale with our Real Estate Brokerage while we continue to obtain rental income for your unit.
Your Success Is Important To Us
Some of you we hear from frequently and some of you rarely if at all; yet all of you are important to OBRHI and we all strive daily to represent your best interests, promote your unit specifically to the world, vet potential tenants thoroughly to greatly reduce the possibility or damage, complaints or loss of income.
To date we have never had to perform a lock out on a non paying tenant and only 3 instances of breakage issues in the history of the company all of which were resolved with security deposits held in trust.
